Youth Pheasants Hunt in Billings
Hunting Pheasants: Youth Mentored Pheasant Hunt
This past weekend, Kimberly, John, and Andrea teamed up to mentor Harlan and Leo during Pheasants Forever, Yellowstone Valley Chapter youth mentored pheasant hunt - and the results were nothing short of incredible.
Under clear skies and with just the right touch of fall chill in the air, the group spent nearly the entire day outdoors, exploring fields, learning the rhythms of the land, and putting new skills to the test. Harlan and Leo, guided patiently by their mentors, each harvested two ring neck pheasants — an impressive accomplishment and a true milestone in their hunting journey.
But the day was about more than just the harvest. Kimberly, John, and Andrea shared their time, experience, and passion for upland hunting, helping the boys learn safe firearm handling, how to read the landscape, and the ethics of respectful, responsible hunting.
For Harlan and Leo, it was a full day of learning, laughter, and growth in the field. And for the mentors, it was a reminder of why passing down outdoor traditions matters so deeply. With birds in the bag and memories made, this youth hunt was a win for everyone — and a great sign of the future of hunting.
